Frequently Asked Questions

What is PPF?

PPF is an acronym for Paint Protection Film or commonly known as "Clear Bra". It is a clear, 6 Mil film that adheres to your cars body panels to protect the cars paint from minor abrasions such as rocks, scratches, bug acids, salt, oils, gravel, tree sap, bird dropping, and other flying debris.

Some of PPF's pluses include:

  • Self-healing properties, the film's clear coat eliminates fine scratches and swirl marks over time when exposed to heat.

  • Nearly invisible because of its optically clear characteristics.

  • Stain and Discoloration Resistant will prevent the film from staining and turning yellow by road grime, bird droppings, bug guts, and air pollution. Simply clean the stained area immediately with bug and tar remover.

What is Paint Correction

Paint correction is when a professional car detailer restores and rejuvenating the paintwork of a vehicle, mostly through the elimination of surface imperfections, that dull, oxidize, or haze the surface by reflecting light off in various directions, therefore detracting from a true and proper, clean, sharp, reflection. These imperfections include things like swirl marks & fine scratches, bird dropping etching & acid rain etching, hologramming & buffer trails, and random isolated deep scratches (or RIDS).

What is Head Light Restoration

Headlight restoration or plastic headlight restoration is the act of refinishing aged headlight lenses that have become discolored or dull due to oxidation primarily due to UV light and other environmental factors such as road debris impact (stones, sand, etc.) rain, and exposure to caustic chemicals. Over time the protective hard-coat breaks down with UV degradation and wear from abrasion, etc. If left untreated the headlights will eventually develop small surface cracks, a condition referred to as crazing. The effectiveness of the headlight in terms of light output measured in lux can be significantly reduced. This condition which results in hazy and discoloured lenses is known for causing reduced night time visibility for drivers as the condition becomes worse. It is possible for cloudy and hazy headlights to be restored to a like-new condition and represents typically a far more economical alternative than replacing the lens.

What is Head Light Clear Bra Installation?

This the process of installing our clear bra after the head light restoration process.  New cars with no head light haze will also benefit from having clear bra on the headlights.  This will keep the original headlights clear and visible for year to come with out any hazing or damage from road debris.  Installing the clear bra when the car is new will save you money in the long run as you will not need to replace the head light or have the need for the head light restoration service.

Can the film be removed? If so, will my car's paint fade or look different when the film is removed?

Yes, the film can be removed. It has a patented adhesive that allows for removal without damaging the paint. Because the film fades at the same rate as the paint if left unprotected, there will be no difference in appearance after removing the film.
If you wished to remove the film, we suggest that it gets removed by us or by a professional to prevent damaging the car's paint.

Does the film require special care?

No special care is needed. Simply wash your vehicle with any standard car wash soap or use a detailing spray to clean the film, provide that the product does not contain more than 5% naphtha or kerosene. However, the film will last longer and will be easier to clean if treated twice a year with a high-quality sealant.
Please refer to Paint Protection Film Care for our suggestion on how to keep your car looking its best after the film is applied.
